So the CIA is a bunch of sneaking spies trying to get the lowdown on what other nations are up to and then take advantage of that for the imperialist Americans, right? Well, if you think that, then check out the CIA World Factbook.
You can answer all of these questions at the site:
What does the flag of Namibia look like?

What is the GDP of Cuba? $40-40.5 billion
What residents of Jordan have to register for military service? All males under 37
How many kilometers of coastline does Antarctica have? 17,968
How many television stations are there in Bolivia? 48
What are the birth, death and literacy rates for Denmark? 11.13/1,000, 10.36/1,000, 99%
And so on. There is a ton of great information on all the nations of the world and even broad geographic areas, such as the oceans. You can even rank nations according to various criteria. Need a list of nations in order from largest to smallest? Here is your source. Russia is largest, the French territory of Bassa da India is smallest (1 square km).
Check it out for some great information, either for fun or for research. Much of this is updated very recently (last month even), and there are maps for the whole world. So the CIA isn't just trying to find secret weapons programs, it is also sharing detailed data for public use. However you feel about the CIA, the World Factbook is a handy tool.
