Early Morning Flight

I will rise at 4:00 tomorrow morning to make sure I get to the airport in time for a 6:00 AM flight. I fly from Burlington to Washington DC, then wait five hours before heading to Mexico. I may have enough time to see some sights in DC during the layover if I get ambitious.
I still do not have a transfer to the hotel. I emailed the resort, as they recommended, but I guess I was just too late. I will have to wing it when I get there. It sounds like I can get a shuttle for under $10 US. A taxi costs around $40 US so forget that dog and pony show. I will get there somehow. I can take the bus, which might be the best adventure, for about $4. Or so I found through a few travel web sites, including Expedia.
I packed a swim suit and some binoculars and a tie for the wedding. I would likely not choose this destination over others if I were to choose the travel destination, so perhaps this will provide a good opportunity for me. In any case, it will be an adventure, short though it will be.
I printed my boarding pass, selected seats and packed a bag. Off I go to Mexico. I will join all four of my siblings for the first time in a few years, and I look forward to that. Heck, we might even have some fun together. At least one sister will be solo, so we might take some time to hang without youngsters. Cancun is a spring break destination, and it is spring. And it will qualify as a break for sure. I will consider this my all-grown-up spring break. It may be tamer than it might have been when I was in college, but I hope it will be no less fun.
